The high call is a sacrifice of all your rights. The high call is letting go of the desires of your flesh. We might find it easier to minister to others than to deal with ourselves, but when the new birth brought life to our inner man, it also brought a personal battle. I do not want to just live this life, and find happiness here, and be okay in eternity. I want to be rewarded in eternity and have God be proud of me. What did Jesus want the Rich Young Ruler to know about being a disciple of Christ? What does He want us to know about counting the cost?
There is a fight to be faced the moment we accepted Christ. The New Birth brought to life our inner man; now we are in a very personal battle. Our inner man is alive with the light of the new nature. Let’s face ourselves and the old nature’s desires, and overcome it. We are not our struggles.
